Four decades ago, during my service in the U.S. Army Field Artillery, the PX sold tear-away countdown tapes for 'short timers,' helping personnel track the days remaining until their discharge. This concept served as inspiration for DOY, an application designed to monitor the days remaining until a user-defined set of significant events.
In addition to counting down to these events, DOY provides the Day Of Year alongside sunrise and sunset times computed based on your current longitude and latitude, offering practical details for planning and awareness.
